publicly-owned sports teams tax parity

A bipartisan bill in Congress would tax all pro sports teams identically, whether they’re privately owned or publicly-traded.

Publicly-traded teams include the NBA’s defending champion New York Knicks, the MLB’s Atlanta Braves, and the NHL’s New York Rangers.

Georgia Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock and Alabama Republican Sen. Katie Britt introduced introduced the Senate version across party lines.

The House version was introduced across party lines by:

3. Georgia Republican Rep. Brian Jack

4. Georgia Democratic Rep. Lucy McBath
